United Tractors (UT/the Company) is the leading and the largest
distributor of heavy equipments in the Indonesia, providing products
from world-renowned brands such as Komatsu, UD Trucks, Scania, Bomag,
Tadano, and Komatsu Forest.
We are a company with a long history. Established on October 13th,
1972, the Company reached an important milestone on September 19th,
1989, by listing its shares in Jakarta and Surabaya Stock Exchange as PT
United Tractors Tbk (UNTR), with PT Astra International Tbk as the
majority shareholder. This initial public offering marked the United
Tractors’ commitment of becoming the world-class solution-driven company
in heavy equipment, mining, and energy for the benefit of stakeholders.
Today, our vast distribution network includes 19 branch offices, 22
site support offices and 11 representative offices in 22 provinces
across the country. Not content with being the largest distributor of
heavy equipments in the country, the Company also plays an active role
in the field of mining contracting and has recently ventured into coal
mining business. UT conducted its businesses through three major
business units known as Construction Machinery, Mining Contracting and
Mining.
As the sole distributor of Komatsu, UD Trucks, Scania, Bomag, Komatsu
Forklift, Tadano, Komatsu Generator Sets and Komatsu Forest,
Construction Machinery business unit offers extensive product range to
cater to the country's major sectors: plantation, construction,
forestry, material handling, mining and transportation. Furthermore,
after-sales services are available to all customers throughout the
Company’s extensive nationwide network

Construction Machinery business is supported by several subsidiaries:
- PT United Tractors Pandu Engineering (UTPE), focusing on product
development, manufacture, distribution and services for heavy equipment
industry and natural resources business.
- PT Bina Pertiwi (BP), distributes Kubota agriculture tractors,
Kubota and Komatsu generators, Komatsu mini excavators, Patria and
Komatsu forklifts and provides rental services.
- PT Multi Prima Universal (MPU), manages heavy equipment rental
business and used heavy equipment sales, and mining contracting for
small-medium scale projects.
- PT Andalan Multi Kencana (AMK), provides commodity parts of heavy equipment components at competitive price.
- PT Universal Tekno Reksajaya (UTR), focusing on remanufacturing and reconditioning heavy equipment components.
Mining sector in Indonesia is thriving due to the increasing price of
primary mining commodities such as tin, nickel, copper, and coal in
particular. Moreover, the demand for primary energy (including coal) and
the high domestic coal consumption caused by the rapid developments of
power plants further stimulate the booming mining contracting business.
In order to tap into such potential, the Company established Mining
Contracting business unit, managed by one of the Company's subsidiaries,
PT Pamapersada Nusantara (Pama). Established in 1988, Pama provides a
range of world-class mining services that extends from mine design,
exploration, extracting, hauling, barging and loading. Operating in
major coal mining projects in various parts of the country, Pama is
widely known as the largest and most reputable coal mining contractor in
Indonesia.
Mining Contracting business offers the following world-class mining services:
- Mining Design and Implementation
- Preliminary Assessment and Feasibility Studies
- Construction and Infrastructure and Plant
- Removal of Overburden and waste
- Commercial Exploitation
- Expansion of Mine/Plant
- Reclamation and Revegetation
- Transshipment and Marketing
Pama has implemented a series of strategic and tactical initiatives
in order to strengthen its position as market leader in domestic mining
contracting business. Increasing its fleet of operational heavy
equipment as well as comprehensive recruitment and development programs
are a few initiatives that Pama has conducted to deliver high
productivity and maintain efficiency with zero accident rate. As a
result, its figures are growing and providing a substantial contribution
to UT’s consolidated revenue.
Pama’s extensive operations within this business segment are also supported by its own subsidiaries:
- PT Pama Indo Mining (PIM)
- PT Kalimantan Prima Persada (KPP)
- PT Multi Prima Universal (MPU)
United Tractors returned to the coal mining business in 2007 through
PT Prima Multi Mineral (“PMM”) a subsidiary of PAMA which is located in
Rantau, South Kalimantan. In 2008, the Company acquired PT Tuah Turangga
Agung (“TTA”) which owns a mine concession of a 4,897 hectares land and
located in Kapuas, Central Kalimantan. TTA started its commercial
production in May 2010. That same year, United Tractors acquired PT
Agung Bara Prima (“ABP”) through TTA.
United Tractors currently gain access to 9 mine concessions in
Indonesia, including PMM, TTA, ABP, PT Bukit Enim Energi (“BEE”), PT
Asmin Bara Bronang (“ABB”), PT Asmin Bara Jaan (“ABJ”), PT Duta
Sejahtera (“DS”), PT Duta Nurcahya (“DN”) and PT Piranti Jaya Utama
(“PJU”), with estimated total coal reserves of 409 million tons
(combined reserve) and coal quality that is ranging from medium up to
high.
